DOZENS queued to be among the first to try out the city's lip licking new chicken shop.

Southern Fried Chicken (SFC) was officially opened on April 17 at 66 Castle Street. The first 100 customers through the doors were rewarded with a free meal, leading dozens to queue outside the door.

Balloons in the brand's classic red and yellow colour, as well as a balloon arch, decorated the freshly renovated premises, with touch screen ordering systems and lit up menus showcasing a range of chicken meals and soft drinks.
