The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

ADRIAN BETTERIDGE, 36, of Maryfield, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a charge of using a mobile phone while driving after he was caught behind the wheel of a Mercedes Sprinter on the M3 northbound at Winchester, using a mobile phone on May 3, 2023. He was banned from driving for six months and handed six points on his licence. He must pay a £80 fine, prosecution costs of £110 and a £32 surcharge.

MARC MCGRANE, 40 of Vantage Tower, Southampton, admitted a charge of speeding after he was caught driving a BMW on the M27 eastbound at Hedge End at 77mph, while a 50mph limit was in place, on May 20, 2023. He was banned from driving for 28 days and must pay a fine of £800 fine, prosecution costs of £110 and a £320 surcharge.

JACK MCBRIDE, 25, of Privett Road, Fareham, pleaded guilty to a charge of speeding after he was caught on the M27 westbound at Portsmouth, driving a BMW at 120mph where a 70mph limit was in place, on January 6, 2024. He was banned from driving for four months and slapped with a £120 fine. He must also pay prosecution costs of £110 and a £48 surcharge.

MANISH TAYAL, 48, of Step Terrace, Winchester, admitted three charges of exceeding a temporary 50mph speed restriction on the M3 southbound after he was caught driving a Land Rover at Otterbourne on March 2, 2023, at 61mph. He was also caught speeding twice on March 3, 2023, on the M3 southbound, with recorded speeds of 64mph and 57mph. He was banned from driving for six months and given three points on his licence. He must pay a £536 fine and a surcharge of £215.
