Residents in Eastleigh were treated to a stunning display of the Northern Lights last night, with many snapping photos of the light show from afar.
Parts of the UK were treated to the Aurora Borealis for the second night in a row after they appeared on Tuesday night across the country.
They have been seen several times across the UK in recent months as the sun is currently undergoing its solar maximum, the peak of its 11-year cycle of activity.
As a solar storm strengthened, the bright lights were even spotted over Eastleigh.

Daily Echo Camera Club member Sharon Laithwaite saw pinks in the sky over Boyatt Wood last night.
Her photos showed the lights peeking above tall trees at around 10pm.
Fellow Camera Club member Yvonne Macklin said the Northern Lights were "evident for about an hour" over Greta Park in Hedge End.
She said the displays are "always worth the wait".
The Northern Lights are best seen away from any light pollution and can generally extend as high as 400 miles above the earth's surface.
