THE last day of a Romsey convenience store was marred by anti-social behaviour, including threatening behaviour.
Police were called to Morrisons in The Cornmarket on Wednesday afternoon after widespread bad behaviour including stealing, according to posts on social media.
Assistant manager Leon Edwards posted on Facebook page Romsey News and Information: "We had anti-social behaviour which put staff and members of the public at risk. We had to dial 999."
A nearby shop worker, who witnessed the behaviour, posted on the same page: "Today has been a nightmare for the staff in there.
"A lot of shoplifting, crowds of nasty people not paying for goods and grabbing stuff, hurling abuse, so yes, they called the police, and I don't blame them. Well done for your last day. I know us lot in Bradbeers will be sorry to see you guys go."

Morrisons in Romsey was one of 16 stores the chain is closing around the country. The Romsey shop had also been hit several times by ram raids in the last year.
The Morrisons in Romsey has been the subject of a planning debacle, which saw councillors call the company out for its failure to install bollards following a series of ram raids.
