The Nailsea Shedders' arts and crafts sessions at Number 65 High Street are proving to be a big hit.

Running since Christmas 2024, the taster courses have seen participants create a range of "magical and creative designs."

One of the most popular projects was the creation of metal roses, which were described as "spectacularly real."

The arts and crafts sessions are held on alternate Wednesdays between 10am and midday, with the next few sessions focusing on wood turning and painting techniques.

The Nailsea Shedders plan to continue running these courses throughout the year, with the addition of a teardrop bamboo bug frame making class.

The sessions have been made possible by a successful grant application, with funding provided by Quartet from The Biddle Trust.

Derek Bloomfield from the Nailsea Shedders said: "These sessions are proving very popular, so please hurry to sign up as the spaces on the arts and crafts courses will be limited to six to ten people."

Paul Wheatley, the tutor of the metal roses class, added: "We are really pleased at the response to these classes, and everyone who has attended has really enjoyed meeting new people and learning new crafty skills."

The courses cost £10 per class, or are free for those who sign up to become an annual member of the Nailsea Shedders.
