VE Day street parties will be taking place all over Gosport.
Gosport Borough Council invited residents and local groups to apply for £100 towards the cost of parties.
At the Grants Subs Board, councillors approved 33 bids, handing out £3,300 from the council's community fund.
This gives the green light for celebrations to happen across the borough so communities can celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day on May 8.
Gosport Borough Council leader, Councillor Peter Chegwyn, said: "May 8 marks 80 years since victory was declared to end the Second World War in Europe, and Gosport communities can now celebrate the momentous occasion with our support.
"Gosport played such an integral role during the war and we will be honouring our naval history with colourful street parties on different dates in early May."
The parties will be taking place on different days around the anniversary, a list will be available on the council's website nearer the time
