A major motorway in Scotland has been named one of the worst in the whole of the UK in research undertaken by the AA.
The M8, which connects Scotland's two largest cities, Edinburgh and Glasgow, was named alongside notorious roads like the M25 around London and the M6 in the Midlands and Northwest of England.
To gather its list, the national breakdown service surveyed thousands of motorists to find the worst roads around.
A whopping 40% of drivers named the M25 the worst to travel on, with many slamming its terrible surfaces and dreadful traffic.

In contrast, the M8 was named number nine on the list, with 1% of respondents giving it the unwanted title of Britain's worst motorway.
Discussing the ranking, Jack Cousens, AA head of roads policy, said: “The M25 is notorious for its heavy traffic and frequent delays.
"As one of the busiest stretches of motorway in the country, it is no surprise that drivers find it frustrating. Little wonder Chris Rea declared it the ‘Road To Hell’."

He went on to say that it's "quite telling" that nine of the worst motorways named have sections of so-called "smart motorway" or "intelligent transport systems".
According to the head of policy, drivers have had to "endure" years of "misery" because of these new roads, with motorists feeling "little if any benefit" from losing the hard shoulder.
