Part of a busy road that runs through Shirley will continue to be plagued by two-way traffic signals until next month.
A section of Shirley Road between the junction at Lisbon Road and Kingston Road has been facing temporary lights on and off since the beginning of March as emergency gas works are being carried out by SGN.
Drivers were first warned on March 2 that the road would be hit with two weeks of road works as engineers from the utility company began work to replace 60 metres of old metal gas pipes.

But the latest information published on Southampton City Council's interactive traffic map suggests that these two-way signals will be in place until May 6.
The road's footpath is unaffected by these works.
The neighbouring Lisbon Road in Shirley also remains closed due to emergency gas works.
A diversion route is in place, as drivers are being asked to instead go down Kingston Road and follow Park Road to travel around Lisbon Road.
