An inquest has opened into the death of a Southampton woman who died in hospital following treatment.
Chantelle Sparshott, 36, of Howard Road, Southampton, died at Southampton General Hospital on Thursday, April 3, a court heard.
The inquest into her death was opened at Winchester Coroners' Court by area coroner Jason Pegg on Monday, April 14.

Mr Pegg said that Ms Sparshott was admitted to hospital with necrotising fasciitis, also known as flesh-eating bacteria.
She underwent surgery to treat this, but shortly after deteriorated and died.
Mr Pegg said that the preliminary cause of death has been given as multi-organ failure, septic shock, necrotising fasciitis and intravenous drug use.
The coroner adjourned the inquest to take place at Winchester Coroners' Court on March 3, 2026.
