Four Southampton eateries have been nominated for the Deliveroo Restaurant Awards 2025.

The awards from the delivery service aim to "celebrate and recognise the very best and most-loved restaurants across the country".

This ranges from local independent burger joints to neighbourhood sushi restaurants and all the dishes and flavours in between.

There are 65 award categories in total, including 50 regional cuisine-led awards and the coveted Independent Restaurant of the Year award.

You can vote for your favourite restaurants up until Wednesday, May 9, on the website here.

Which Southampton restaurants were nominated for the Deliveroo Awards?

Southampton restaurants were nominated across a few categories, which are broken down as follows:

  • Mexigo - Independent Restaurant of the Year 
  • BURGA - Best Burger & American
  • Indos Piri Piri - Best Chicken
  • CoSushi - Best Japanese (including Sushi)

Mexigo

Discussing Mexigo, Deliveroo said: "They’ve been spicing up Southampton with bold, authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex flavours for well over a decade.

"From burritos and fajitas to tacos and beyond, everything on their menu is made fresh in-house – think slow-cooked meats, vibrant hand-chopped salsas, scratch-made sauces, and desserts baked in-house."

Customers seem to agree, with it having earned a 4.3/5 rating on Tripadvisor from 159 reviews.

BURGA

Meanwhile, BURGA was highlighted for their 100% British beef burgers with lots of unique flair.

They said: "BURGA bar was opened by second-year University of Southampton student Yaqub Ahmed, who decided to run the new venture alongside his Business Management studies.

"BURGA serves handmade 100% British beef ‘burgaz’ cooked fresh to order, with lots of interesting toppings and sides.

Indos Piri Piri

Indos Piri Piri was highlighted for its "fresh, grilled and healthy chicken with different Asian and Middle Eastern flavours that entice your taste buds."

They have also earned a lot of praise from customers, earning a 4.1/5 score on Tripadvisor from 35 reviews.

CoSushi

Finally, CoSushi was praised for its blend of Japanese and Chinese cuisine, "offering freshly prepared bento and sushi daily alongside meticulously cooked hot dishes."

Among the judges for the 2025 awards will be Celebrity Masterchef finalist, TV personality, culinary school graduate and daughter of Gordon Ramsay, Tilly Ramsay.

She will sit alongside a panel of experts that include Deliveroo’s CEO and Founder Will Shu and esteemed food critic and returning judge, Jimi Famurewa.

The winners of the Deliveroo 2025 Restaurant Awards will be announced via Deliveroo’s social channels on May 28, 2025.
