Police have ramped up their investigation into an unknown man shouting and swearing at two young girls by releasing CCTV imagery.

Hampshire officers want to speak to a man in connection with a reported assault at Stoneham Natural Play Area on Highwood Avenue in Eastleigh.

Between 7pm and 7.15pm on Monday, an unknown man was reportedly seen shouting and swearing at two young girls, who were both aged under ten.

The man is aged between 55 and 65, approximately five-foot eight-inches tall, of average build and with grey hair.

He was wearing a blue jacket and dark trousers.

A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "We believe the man in this image can help us with our investigation and would urge him, or anyone who knows his identity, to get in touch with us.

"Also, if you witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam or doorbell camera footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us.

"You can do this by calling 101, or by reporting online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, quoting incident number 44250152200."
