It has been reported that "hundreds" of jobs may be cut at the University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.
BBC Radio 4 have reported that, in addition to the 800 confirmed non-clinical roles being cut at Portsmouth and Isle of Wight NHS trusts, "hundreds more" could also be slashed in Southampton and other surrounding trusts.

This follows the announcement by Cambridge University Hospital NHS Trust that it would be cutting about 500 posts in non-clinical areas.
It is understood that the Government has asked all NHS trusts to reduce the "cost of their support functions to April 2022 levels".
The University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust have been approached for comment.
