A Southampton cruise ship has been criticised by a hygiene regulator after not giving a follow up appointment to two passengers with gastroenteritis.
According to Centre for Disease Control (CDC), during the Sky Princess voyage to Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos between January 5 and January 12 – two people with gastroenteritis cases did not have a recorded 48 hour follow up.
This comes after the CDC inspected the vessel on January 8, 2025, and gave it an inspection score of 96 – with only a handful of ships ever falling below 85, which is considered ‘not satisfactory’.

Other aspects highlighted in the report, were the presence of flies in some areas such as the show gallery and near a warewash machine.
Staff on Sky Princess have been asked to ‘effectively control the presence of insects’ on the vessel.
Overall the CDC found hygiene to be satisfactory on Sky Princess.
