Netley Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club is celebrating its first anniversary.
The club, which began in April 2024, has had a successful year, hosting numerous events to support veterans and their families.
These events aim to improve mental well-being and reduce social isolation among veterans by providing free or subsidised outings and day trips.
Any funds raised are reinvested into these activities.
The founders, all with military backgrounds, were inspired to start the club after a successful Christmas dinner event in 2023 for veterans who would have been alone on the festive day.
The success of the event, which had more than 30 attendees, led to the creation of the monthly breakfast club.
A second Christmas dinner in 2024 was attended by more than 40 people, including veterans and members of the local community.
The club has grown significantly over the past year, thanks to the support of the community.
To mark their first anniversary, the club will be hosting a celebratory event on April 14 at St Edwards Church Hall.
The mayor of Eastleigh is expected to attend.
The club will continue its mission to support veterans and their families, with all funds raised going towards future events and activities.
