Southampton Solent University recently hosted the National Student Television Association (NaSTA) Conference and Awards, scooping multiple accolades.
The event, held on April 4 and April 5, drew around 200 guests to the Solent campus for an industry conference and awards ceremony.
SonarEvents, Solent's student-run live events society, was central to the organisation, involving more than 60 students from various courses.
The society itself was nominated for four awards and clinched three, including the Live Broadcast award for its coverage of the Hampshire FA Women’s Cup Final.
They also secured a silver for the Sport Award, recognising their Division 2 Basketball Men’s Final broadcast, and a bronze for Event Coverage.
SonarEvents Host Officer for NaSTA 2025, Will Swain, highlighted the collective effort of 63 students from the Department of Film and Media in pulling off the event.
The NaSTA conference, a significant occasion for emerging creatives in the TV and media industry, is open to university students across the UK.
