The family of an ambitious, intelligent, and caring teenager who passed away before he was able to take up his place at university have launched a charity in his name.
A much-loved son and brother and keen student, who excelled in maths and physics and enjoyed films and gaming, Jibraan Chaudhary was just 18 when multiple organ failure due to sepsis ended his life in November.
Jibraan, who planned to study Theoretical Physics, was in remission from a rare and aggressive form of acute myeloid leukemia and awaiting a life-saving stem cell transplant at University Hospital Southampton when he contracted sepsis during his third round of chemotherapy.

Former Embley pupil Jibraan's parents Nveed and Samra and siblings Orhaan and Larisaa, from Hedge End, are aiming to turn their tragic loss into impactful change, with the launch of the Jibraan Chaudhary Sepsis Research (JCSR) Foundation.
The charity, which will fund ground-breaking research into better prevention, treatment and monitoring to help chemotherapy patients have a better chance of survival from sepsis, will see its first fundraiser take place later this month.
Jibraan's father, Dr. Nveed Chaudhary, who has a background in respiratory medicine, told the Daily Echo: "We want Jibraan's legacy to live on. Jibraan cared about everything and everyone. He would have wanted us to learn from his experience and for people to not have to go through what he went through. His passing and suffering could be the reason why others don't have to suffer in future.
"I had to put my energy into something and occupy myself following his passing. It became very apparent to me that there is a massive gap in our knowledge and the treatment options available to us in cases like this.
"The response we've received as we've set up the foundation has been phenomenal and we're going to give it a go."

All are welcome to attend the event, which will start at 4pm, with kick off at 5.30pm, and include fun-family activities, food and refreshments.
Future events are set to include a candlelight concert and an annual awareness day.
