A golf club's plan to build a personal reservoir has been boosted by a grant.
Stoneham Golf Club in Hampshire has been awarded £20,000 from Southern Water's Business Partnership Fund to help with the £1.7 million project.
The reservoir will save the club around 8 million litres of water a year, which is used to maintain the greens and fairways.
The project began in January and is expected to be completed by October 2026.
Matt Plested, course manager at Stoneham Golf Club, said: "Sustainability is a key strategic objective for Stoneham Golf Club and water consumption is a key part of this.
"We’ve been looking at several ways that we can reduce water usage and Southern Water have been great in supporting this."
The reservoir will also encourage local wildlife, such as bats, badgers, and dormice.
The Business Partnership Fund's third round of awards has issued three grants totalling more than £50,000 to businesses across the region.
