The UK's hottest day of the year so far has been recorded in Hampshire as weather experts said temperatures surpassed 20 degrees.
The Met Office announced that today is the warmest day in the UK since September 21, 2024, after a temperature of 23 degrees was recorded in Gosport.
The previous hottest day of 2025 so far was on March 20 when a temperature of 21.3C was recorded in Northolt, west London.
Later on in the afternoon, temperatures also reached 23.4C in Otterbourne, Hampshire and Wiggonholt, West Sussex on Friday afternoon.
Elsewhere in Hampshire, Southampton is set to have the luxury of a mini heatwave this weekend as the city will be hotter than it is in Ibiza.

The Met Office predicts a scorching 20 degrees in the city on Saturday too with a low of six in the early morning.
Sun will beam down on marathon runners on Sunday too with a sweltering 17 degrees predicted.
Predictions from the Met Office say that the sun will keep coming as their readings suggest the day’s peak temperature will not drop lower than 16 degrees between now and Friday, April 11.
