A takeaway in Shirley Warren has been given the green light to open on Sundays and to extend its opening hours overall.
When permission was first lodged to turn 11 Warren Avenue into The Giddy Kipper in 1990, plans were approved on the basis that the fish and chip shop only operated between 11am to 11:30pm Monday to Saturday and stayed shut on Sunday.
But now, council planning officers have approved a change to the condition to allow the takeaway to open longer.
The Giddy Kipper can now serve hot food from 9am to 10:30pm Monday to Saturday - including bank holidays - and 10am to 10:30pm on Sunday.

The fish and chip shop was previously restricted to opening between 11am to 11:30pm Monday to Saturday and was not allowed to operate at any time on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
But now, the takeaway is allowed to serve hot food from 9am to 10:30pm Monday to Saturday - including bank holidays - and 10am to 10:30pm on Sunday.
Three residents objected to the application while nine put in supportive responses.
