Police in Hedge End had to use their blue lights to save a swan today, in a real life movie moment that would not have looked out of place in 'Hot Fuzz'.
According to a Facebook post, a resident called the Hampshire force after a swan had wandered onto a main road and began to cause danger to road users.
An officer therefore activated their blue light system to warn people and save their "vulnerable two legged friend".

The post from police continued: "In a not so elegant display attempting to give instructions to an unruly swan, PC Sissons was then seen trying to gently move the Swan out of danger with her Police high vis jacket.
"The incident resulted in the completion of the safety to road users and to His Majesty's Swan."
The post joked that those who have seen Hot Fuzz will "know all police forces across the Kingdom must do what they, when they can" to help the birds under the protection of the Crown.
In the film, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, playing Sergeant Nicholas Angel and Police Constable Daniel Butterman, are tasked with chasing a swan around the fictional Gloucestershire village of Sandford.
