The new Norwegian Aqua cruise ship has left Southampton for the first time as it makes its transatlantic debut.

Norwegian Cruise Line's newest ship arrived in the city as it finished its maiden voyage from Lisbon on Tuesday.

Aqua set sail on Friday at 5pm, now heading to Boston and crossing the Atlantic for the first time.

Norwegian Aqua is set to arrive in Boston at 8am on April 4.

With a capacity of 3,571 passengers, the ship boasts the world's first hybrid rollercoaster and water slide.

It also features a digital sports complex, a pool deck, and three-bedroom duplex suites.

Other amenities on board include four outdoor pools, a spa, a casino, and expanded areas for Hasuki Teppanyaki, Vibe Beach Club, and the Commodore Room.

The ship also has large Starbucks areas, four pools and a casino.
