The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

RYAN SHAH, 21, of Meadow Lane, Eastleigh, admitted three charges of theft after he stole clothing worth £1,127 from John Lewis, Westquay, clothing worth £200 from JD Sports, Southampton, and £68 worth of clothing from Primark, Southampton, on January 20. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of cannabis after he was caught with 3.5g of the Class B drug in Bournemouth on July 21, 2024. He is subject to a 15 month community order and is excluded from any retail premises in Southampton city centre for three months. A forfeiture and destruction order was made for the cannabis and he must pay a £100 fine.

SAMUEL BARNETT, 26, of Kendal Avenue, Southampton, admitted a charge of criminal damage after he caused £100 worth of damage to the wing mirrors of a motorhome belonging to a man in Southampton on September 7, 2023. He also admitted a charge of assault occasioning actual bodily harm after he assaulted a man on the same date in Kendal Avenue. He must pay £400 compensation and prosecution costs of £85.

DANNY CROOK, 33, of Victoria Road, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a charge of assault by beating after he assaulted a man, and a charge of assaulting an emergency worker after he assaulted a police officer, both in Oxford Street, Southampton on May 4, 2024. He will next appear before the same court on April 22.

LINDSAY GOWER, 65, of Station Road, Hayling Island, admitted a charge of speeding after being caught driving at 46mph on the M27 westbound at Fareham on March 29, 2023. The stretch of motorway was under a temporary speed limit of 40mph. Gower was slapped with a £120 fine and three points on their licence. Gower must also pay prosecution costs of £300 and a £50 surcharge.
