A pre-school has been rated 'good' across the board by Ofsted.

Oasis Academy Lord's Hill Pre-School in Southampton was inspected on February 14, 2025, and was found to be 'good' in all areas, including the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.

The report said: "Children demonstrate a positive attitude towards their learning.

"They are curious learners and show an interest in exploration.

"Children demonstrate they feel safe and secure as they confidently follow the daily routine.

"Staff promote children's self-care and meet their care needs well.

"They teach them the importance of hygiene practices, such as handwashing.

"Children develop a strong sense of responsibility for their well-being.

"For example, they independently clean up after snack time and dress themselves for outdoor play."

The report also praised the staff for providing "meaningful learning opportunities" and said the children "engage well."

It added: "Children develop good core strength and balance while climbing and balancing outdoors.

"Children demonstrate a love for songs as they sing nursery rhymes.

"Additionally, staff involve children in caring for stick insects and teach them about their needs and how to ensure they are safe and well.

"This promotes both empathy and responsibility.

"Children's behaviour is generally positive.

"Staff support children effectively if they become overwhelmed and help them to regain emotional balance."

However, the report said the pre-school could improve by strengthening how information is shared with other professionals to avoid unnecessary delays in children receiving additional support and enhancing the monitoring of children's progress to precisely target what they need to learn next.

Clare Croucher, Oasis Lord’s Hill Preschool manager, said: "We are incredibly proud of all our achievements and this positive Ofsted report is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our entire team.

"We are committed to providing a fantastic place for children to learn and grow, and we are thrilled that the inspectors recognised the many strengths within our preschool.

"We want to take this opportunity to thank our parents and carers for their continued support, which plays a vital role in making our preschool the wonderful place it is."
