A machete has been seized by police who arrested two men.
Police officers swooped on Arthur Road, Shirley, shortly after 3.30pm on Thursday afternoon
It comes after officers were told of a man sitting in a car with a knife. A car was recovered from the scene.
Officers found a machete and suspected Class A drugs inside the vehicle when they attended the scene.
A 37-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Southampton, have been arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of Class A drugs.
One woman who lives in the area and wished to be unnamed, described seeing two police cars arrive at the road, and the arrests take place.
