Plans for a self-service car wash are set to be debated by the council next week.
Ecco Wash UK is eyeing up Antelope Park, Thornhill, for four enclosed jet wash bays and two open vacuum bays for motorists to clean their vehicles.
The facilities would be self-service and would occupy three parking bays at the retail park.
According to the plans, the proposed jet wash service near Linacre Road would generate approximately 3,000 litres per day of dirty water.
This water would then be stored in tanks and later discharged into a treatment tank at the end of each day.
It is proposed that the business would be open for use seven days a week, 7am to 7pm.

Cllr Andy Frampton has raised concerns about the noise level on surrounding residents.
He said: “We have been contacted by residents from Linacre Road concerned about the noise levels from this proposal.
“The site is a private site that is large enough for this application to be moved away from the boundary that affects the residential area.
“Some have complained about the noise disturbing young children at bedtime especially in summer when windows are more likely to be open.”
But according to Southampton City Council, the plans are considered acceptable and “would not result in significant impacts on neighbour amenity or highway safety to warrant a refusal of planning permission”.
It has been recommended to grant permission and a decision will be made by Southampton City Council on April 1.
