Cunard’s newest ship Queen Anne met her sister ship Queen Elizabeth for the very first time this month more than 6,000 miles away from home.
The two Cunard ships docked together in Hong Kong last week. Queen Anne docked at Kai Tak Cruise Terminal, north of Hong Kong Island, at 7am on March 18, before being joined by Queen Elizabeth at 8am the following morning.
The 3,000-guest Queen Anne, currently in port at Penang in Malaysia, is sailing her maiden 107-night world voyage from Southampton, captained by Cunard’s first female captain, Inger Thorhauge.
While docked in port together, Cpt Thorhauge met with fellow captain, Aureliano Mazzella, who is at the helm of Queen Elizabeth.

Captain Aureliano Mazzella (left) and captain Inger Thorhauge (right) (Image: Cunard) Queen Anne will arrive home on the south coast next month, after she’ll have visited a total of 30 different ports across 18 countries – with 1,067 guests sailing the entire world voyage.
Queen Elizabeth, which recently completed an era-defining makeover ahead of her inaugural Miami-Caribbean and Alaska seasons, is currently enjoying a nine-night voyage to Yokohama in Japan, arriving on Saturday, March 29.
