A new rugby pitch is set to be built at an Army barracks.
The proposals at McMullen Barracks in Marchwood for the full-sized mixed-use sports pitch, including goal posts, team dugouts, and ball stop netting, have now been approved by New Forest District Council.
The pitch will primarily be used for rugby.
The development also includes the extension of the existing perimeter fence, the creation of a new emergency access gate, and the replacement of an existing footbridge.

The pitch will be built on part of the open space within the barracks, which is currently grassed and has several mature trees.
Despite the loss of these trees, the authority noted the proposal would secure a "good quality scheme of landscaping and ecological enhancements."
McMullen Barracks, located off Cracknore Hard Lane, is home to various facilities, including training, office and storage uses, as well as residential accommodation.
The site falls within a flood zone, but appropriate mitigation measures have been proposed to address the potential flood risk.
