A woman has been honoured for her 30 years of service with the RNLI.

Diane Carrier joined Calshot RNLI in 1993 and worked her way up to become a crew member, serving on Calshot’s all-weather lifeboats and inshore lifeboats for 18 years.

In 2012, she became a launch authority, supporting the station in coordinating boat launches and rescues with the crew.

This was vital as the station transitioned to new inshore lifeboats.

Following this, she became the lifeboat operations manager and held this role for six years, ensuring the station was run according to RNLI standards.

After stepping down from her role as lifeboat operations manager, Diane continued to help the station, continuing in her role as launch authority as well as acting as shore crew and head launcher.

A spokesperson for Calshot RNLI said: "We are very grateful for Diane’s support, time and energy over so many years.

"She’s helped the station through some key transitions and is an integral part of the team here at Calshot.

"The knowledge accumulated over so many years of service continues to be of immense value to the station."
