A 44-year-old man who was allegedly carrying two knives near a school in Southampton has been charged.
Police say that they received reports of a man walking with the knives on Malmesbury Road yesterday at around 3pm.
Nobody was hurt, but the nearby St Mark’s C of E School went into lockdown during this incident, which saw pupils and parents locked inside the school while a tannoy repeated "lockdown".

The lockdown had been lifted by 3.34pm.
No injuries were reported across the entire incident.
Carlos Santos of Commercial Road, Southampton has since been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.
He will appear at Southampton Magistrates Court tomorrow.
