Workers have started ripping out a popular play centre, six months after it suddenly closed.
Plastic chairs, soft toys, and the interiors of Injoy Southampton were tossed in a large skip on Tuesday.
The play centre in Ocean Way has been shut since September of last year after its parent company Sport & Leisure Centres Limited went into liquidation.
The building has since been targeted by vandals and been the subject of much speculation.
But Marina Developments (MDL), which owns Ocean Village, has confirmed what is in the pipeline for the site.
A spokesperson said: “The building is actively being marketed, and discussions are ongoing with interested parties regarding its future use.
“At this stage, there are no confirmed plans to announce, but we will provide updates as and when appropriate.”

As previously reported, company accounts showed that Sport & Leisure Centres Limited owed £313,601 to other firms based in Southampton or Eastleigh.
And as of November 2024, the company owed a total of £2,351,180.98 to other businesses.
The closure comes less than six years after the play centre opened, replacing the former Cineworld at the site.
Approximately 40 full and part-time jobs were created.
