One of the founding members of a legendary Britpop band is set to come to Southampton to tell his story.

Tony McCarroll, who played the drums for Oasis from 1991 to 1995, will return to The Joiners on St Mary Street on June 21, 31 years after the band first played the venue.

The man behind the beats of debut album Definitely Maybe and Whatever will host an "in conversation" event as he shares his stories and experiences with the band.

He also played the drums on Oasis' first number one single, Some Might Say.

The evening will be hosted by John Robb and exclusive signed merch will be on sale at the event.

Oasis played a set list that included Supersonic and their trademark cover of I Am The Walrus when they took to the stage at The Joiners on March 29, 1994.

Tickets cost only £3 and McCarroll, along with Liam and Noel Gallagher, Paul McGuigan and Paul Arthurs, would release their debut album later that year.
