Dozens of families woke up to no running water after a burst main left their supply running dry all weekend.
Water started gushing down Bridge Road on Friday, causing ongoing disruption for surrounding residents.
Responsible Southern Water has been working to restore water to the affected homes, but people say they have been left in the dark.
Mum-of-two Kerry West, 46, lives on the road with her two children, husband, and elderly father, 80.
And as the owner of dog boarding business The Pooch Palace, Kerry also has four dogs to care for, with no running water to hand.
She said: “I find out about it when my son was walking to the train station on Friday and saw the leak.
“We had no contact from Southern Water until I phoned them on Saturday.
“We had reduced water pressure, but it was Saturday morning we lost all water.
“My husband bought 30 litres of water from Tesco before we heard from Southern Water.
“From that point, we couldn’t shower, wash up, or do anything with water.”

A burst water pipe has left Bursledon residents high and dry (Image: Supplied) Kerry said she appreciates the fact incidents like this happen but wants the beleaguered water company to step up and communicate.
“I have been talking to the workmen on site, who are very nice, for updates, but the rest is Chinese whispers”, she said.
“The only time we have heard from Southern Water is when we phone him. My husband has now emailed the CEO.
“The leak still has not been found so we don’t know how long this will go on for.
“But how long is a piece of string?”
Neighbour Paula King resorted to staying in a hotel after more than two days without water.

The 56-year-old said: “When I woke up on Friday I saw a river of water on the road.
“It was fine on the first day, but there has been a lack of communication from Southern Water.
“This morning 12 bottles of water were delivered to our doorstep, but we do not have answers from Southern Water.
“The repair is not going to be quick.
“From this, I hope Southern Water can put something in place in the future for other people.”
A spokesperson for Southern Water thanked customers for their patience.
They said: "This is a complex repair, but despite this our team has worked hard to ensure services can be restored as soon as possible. The majority of affected homes will see supplies return by early this evening.
"For those still without mains supply, bottled water will be delivered before 8am tomorrow.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused over the last couple of days and appreciate the patience and understanding of customer affected by the burst.”
