A burst water pipe has left residents high and dry for more than two days.
People living in Bursledon have been without water since Friday.
But the end is not in sight, with Southern Water confirming the repair process is “more complex” than anticipated.
A spokesperson said: “Unfortunately, the repair process is proving to be more complex than initially anticipated, and our team is working diligently to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
"In the meantime, we will be delivering bottled water to those affected to ensure everyone has access to water during this disruption.
"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this matter."

Some residents said they have "no idea" when water supply will be reinstated, with concerns raised by the lack of action from Southern Water.
The Federation of Bursledon C of E Infant School and Bursledon CA Junior School have also been affected.
A spokesperson said: "We have spoken with Southern Water today, about the ongoing water outage in the area around the schools.
"Southern Water have reassured us that if they can not fix the leak today, they will continue to supply the schools with water via tanker in order that we can be open for our children and families.
"We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow."
