The following cases were heard at Southampton Magistrates' Court:

CLAIRE LOWE, 61, of Meadowlands, Lymington, was found guilty of a charge of causing serious injury by careless and inconsiderate driving after she injured Shirley Clark in Lymington on August 24, 2023. She was driving a Vauxhall Astra in Highfield, Lymington at the time of the incident. She was handed a year-long community order and was banned from driving for three years. She must complete 200 hours of unpaid work, pay prosecution costs of £620 and pay a £114 surcharge by April 11 of this year.

BART CHAPMAN, 31, of Sinclair Drive, Chandler’s Ford, pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to comply with notification requirements for the sex offenders register. Sinclair failed to declare his new bank details at a police station in Romsey on November 10, 2024. He is now subject to a year-long community order and must undertake 150 hours of unpaid work. He was also ordered to pay prosecution cost of £85 and a £114 surcharge.

MARK DYTHE, 60, of Rollesbrook Gardens, Southampton, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a blade/sharp, pointed article after he was found with a centre punch tool in Earls Road, Southampton, on November 28, 2024. He was handed a prison sentence of three months suspended for 15 months. He must pay prosecution costs of £85 and a £154 surcharge. 

JAMES MCMURRAY, 36, of Portswood Road, Southampton, admitted a charge of theft after stealing bottles of washing liquid worth £39.10 from Tesco on Cobden Avenue on January 31. He will next appear before the same court on March 17.
