A shoplifter whose haul included seven boxes of Ferrero Rocher chocolates has been told to pay his victims more than £600 in compensation.

Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, Jerry Skinner, of Longstock Close in Southampton, helped himself to a variety of items.

His crime spree began on September 25 2024, when he stole cooked meat, health and beauty products, and pet food from a Co-op store in Southampton.

The items were together valued at £98.80, the court was told.

On October 10 Skinner, 35, targeted a Southern Co-operative store in Eastleigh, making off with meat and washing products worth £402.60.

Nine days later he stole seven boxes of Ferrero Rocher chocolates, together valued at £66.50, from a Tesco Express branch in Eastleigh.

The following month he again entered a Southern Co-operative store in Eastleigh and helped himself to steaks and mincemeat worth £54.70.

Skinner pleaded guilty to all the offences and was told to compensate the shops, which means he must pay a total of £646.
