A Southampton church is set to commemorate its 50th anniversary in 2025.

New Community Church held its first public meeting on March 2, 1975, and has since grown into a hub for both faith and community.

In addition, Central Hall, a building purchased and used by the church since 1990, will celebrate its 100th year in 2025.

The church is set to host a series of events throughout the year to celebrate the occasion.

Former leader Billy Kennedy has also written a book titled "Generations, Generations, Generations," which looks at the history of the church and its impact on the city.

A representative for New Community Church said: "We are incredibly grateful for all that God has done in and through New Community Church over the past 50 years.

"This anniversary is not just about looking back at our history, but also about looking forward to how we can continue to bring hope and transformation to Southampton in the years to come."
