An Eastleigh man is set to cycle the length of Britain in five days to raise money for charity.
Ken Holt, 42, will start his journey on March 28, cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in memory of his mother, Christine, who died in November 2023 from hypertensive heart disease.
Ken said: "Mum brought me, my brother, and my sister up as a single mother after my parents divorced.
"Despite all the pressure, she always made sure she was there for us."
As part of his Ironman training, Mr Holt decided to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) by cycling 200 miles a day.
He said: "I’m really looking forward to getting on my bike and riding for a good cause.
"The BHF’s research is so important because it helps keep people’s hearts beating a little bit longer."
