Police have increased patrols in Totton after a teenage girl was raped and left in a park.
The girl, 13, was attacked on Friday evening in the town.
Officers have been going door to door in the town today, as well as speaking with businesses, to put together a timeline of events.
And uniformed neighbourhood policing teams have stepped up patrols over the weekend.
The detective heading the investigation has moved to reassure the public, saying they are investigating "as a priority".
Detective Inspector Claire Shawley said: "I know this incident is extremely concerning for the local community, and we are working hard to investigate what has happened as a priority.
"Our team have been conducting inquiries in the town throughout the weekend, and colleagues from our local policing teams are carrying out additional patrols.
"We are also supporting the victim and her family.
"I know at times like this, it is natural for people to want as much information as possible, and we will share more when we can.
"But I would ask you not to speculate at this time about who may be involved.
"If you do have any information which could assist our investigation, then please do get in touch with us.
"However small it may seem to you, it could be a vital detail for us."
