A BASINGSTOKE man will be sentenced at the beginning of next month for taking part in a violent brawl after a football game in 2023.
Philip George Christopher Anderson, 36, pleaded guilty to violent disorder on October 30 after taking part in a brawl following a fixture between Southampton FC and Tottenham Hotspurs on March 18, 2023.
Two groups of opposing supporters clashed on Queens Terrance in Southampton after the match before migrating on Oxford Street and spilling out onto the A33.

Twenty-four men and boys pleaded guilty to violent disorder for the events after the 3pm match, according to the Crown Prosecution Service.
Ashley Page, 21, Thomas John Ryalls, 23, Bradley Richard Doughty, 39, Charlie Peter Glasspool, 20, Gerry Peter Glasspool, 42, and Bradley Ryan Law, 23, were sentenced on March 6.
Owen Eldridge, 23, Charlie Craig Morrow, 22, Kane Buckley, 26, David Pilgrim, 47, and Bradley Scott, 25, were sentenced the following day on March 7.
William Cassells, 21, was sentenced on 10 March 2025. Kray Lee Bennet, 24, Alfie Henry Blackford, 26, Dante Lauder-Hawkins, 35, and Luke Leadbitter, 25, followed on March 13.
Lee Richard Pender, 33, Edward Albert Richardson, 26, Billie Wayne Thorp, 27, Harry David Thorp, 28 and Jack Warren, 26, were sentenced today on March 14.
A youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was previously sentenced on January 15, 2024, to a Youth Rehabilitation Order along with an 18-month Supervision Order and 120 hours of unpaid work.
Football Banning Orders were made in relation to each of the offenders.
This means that they will now be banned from every football ground in the country and unable to travel abroad when international games are happening.

Danny Joe Brown, 36, will be sentenced at a later date. Basingstoke man Philip George Christopher Anderson will be sentenced on Tuesday, April 1.
Chief Inspector Stuart Ratcliffe, who has been overseeing the investigation, said the behaviour displayed by the men was 'completely shocking and absolutely unacceptable'.
He added: "We know that the vast majority of those attending football matches have no intention of involving themselves in scenes of violent disorder like this.
"However, for the minority who ruin events like these for the rest, our message is that we will not tolerate any violence, and we will take action against you."
