Southampton Solent University has become an accredited educational partner of BAFTA Albert.

The organisation, owned by BAFTA, is a leader in promoting environmental sustainability in the film and television industry.

This partnership will provide Solent students with access to BAFTA Albert training and industry insights, boosting their confidence in adopting greener practices in their careers.

A short course, led by Dr Stuart Joy and Dr Adam Vaughan, will be introduced as part of this initiative.

Thirty students will participate in a pilot scheme, earning the title of 'Albert Grad' to enhance their CVs.

The university is also incorporating sustainability-focused topics into its film and media courses.

Will Cope, head of film and media at Solent, said: "This prestigious recognition reinforces the university’s commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and skills they need to create sustainable content for the small and big screen, while promoting environmentally responsible production practices."
