A CHARITY shop that has helped more patients get the care they need has been described as a "true community hub".
The Lewis-Manning Hospice Care shop, which opened in September 2023 in Ringwood, has helped increase awareness and funding for hospice services.
This has allowed more patients to access essential care.
Between January and July 2024, 31 patients from Ringwood benefited from these vital services.
This is a huge increase compared to just seven patients in the same period before the shop's opening.

The shop also provides social support visits to patients' homes.
Shanie Brown, the Ringwood shop's manager with nearly 30 years of charity retail experience, said: "The shop has become a true community hub.
"It not only raises much-needed funds for the hospice, but it also offers a welcoming space for customers and volunteers alike.
"Every day, we see first-hand how generosity and kindness make a difference."
The shop's house clearance service has more than doubled in demand since the store opened.
This service helps families during emotionally difficult times and contributes to sustainability by providing a steady supply of quality pre-loved items to the shop.
The shop also offers volunteer opportunities.
Starting with just four part-time volunteers at its launch, the team has now grown to 13.
Volunteer Jackie, who joined the team in October 2023, said: "As a local, I saw the store being prepared for its opening and was intrigued by how vibrant it looked.
"It coincided with my retirement, so I decided to get involved.
"It’s such a refreshing change in my life and I love being part of this welcoming and fun team."
The shop is launching a new monthly prize draw to thank its customers.
With every purchase made in-store throughout March, April and May, shoppers will receive a raffle ticket.
At the end of each month, three winners will be selected to receive a £20 voucher to spend in the shop.
