Dozens of Harry Potters, Matildas, Gruffalos and Willy Wonkas were among the colourful characters on display as Hampshire celebrated World Book Day.
Children made their way to school inspired by their favourite books, including the wizarding world of JK Rowling and the many stories created by Roald Dahl and Julia Donaldson.
But not before stopping for a quick snap for the Daily Echo.
(Image: Supplied) Our picture gallery shows some of the hundreds of children - plus a few teachers - which appeared in our World Book Day special supplement in the Daily Echo earlier this week.
Glinda, Elphaba, Dogman and Where's Wally also featured heavily in the snaps and there were all sorts of weird and wonderful literary creations - everything from The Very Hungry Caterpillar to a fantastic Avatar recreation in bright blue.

If you missed the special supplement, on Tuesday, you can order a back copy by calling 0800 953 0227 or emailing deliveries@newsquest.co.uk.
