A man suffered injuries to his forehead after a group tried to steal his phone and wallet, police said.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was tripped up in Hedge End on Sunday, suffering minor injuries to his forehead and hand, Hampshire Constabulary said.

His phone was damaged.

He was reportedly told to hand over his phone and wallet, but managed to run off without any items being stolen.

The incident occurred in Laburnum Road, Hedge End on March 9, between 7.30pm and 8pm.

One of the males in the group was seen wearing all-black clothing and had his face covered.

Hampshire Constabulary is now appealing for witnesses.

Officers are particularly interested in receiving footage of the incident, whether from mobile phones, doorbell cameras, dash cams, or CCTV.
