Four caravans have been removed in Woolston after a "significant number" of anti-social behaviour reports from locals.

Officers attended Hazel Road on Monday to remove the four vehicles after staff at businesses nearby reported "intimidating behaviour" by those occupying the caravans.

In a Facebook post, police said that the action comes following a significant number of reports in recent months of anti-social behaviour, including drug usage and difficulty for other vehicles to access the area.

The Facebook post from police said: "We have been regularly talking, and listening, to businesses and members of the public in the impacted area and want them to know that we have heard their concerns and taken action.

"Police attended the industrial estate on Hazel Road to remove four caravans under Section 60C of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act 1994.

"A Section 60C order can be implemented when a person is residing on land with at least one vehicle without the consent of the occupier, and there is the belief that they have caused - or are likely to cause - significant damage, disruption or distress.

"If the recipient of the order returns to the land within 12 months then they are committing an offence and can be arrested, as well as having their vehicles removed by police."
