Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra is set to celebrate its 95th anniversary with a special open-air community concert.

The performance is scheduled for June 21 at 7pm on the lawn by the lake at The Vyne.

Music enthusiasts can anticipate an evening of classical pieces such as Jupiter from Holst’s The Planets and selections from Swan Lake.

Marking Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary, the orchestra will also perform Carl Davis’s Theme from Pride and Prejudice, honouring the author's local connection.

The Vyne, a National Trust historic Tudor house, boasts 1,500 acres of gardens and woodlands in Sherborne St John, making it a fitting venue for the event.

Attendees are invited to bring a picnic, rugs, or chairs to enjoy the music by the lake with friends and family.

Tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £12 for those aged 3 to 16, and are free for children under 3.

They can be purchased at bso.org.uk or via TicketSource: Basingstoke Symphony Orchestra.

The event promises a memorable evening combining music, history, and natural beauty.
