A serial shoplifter is awaiting sentence after pleading guilty to ten offences committed at stores across Southampton.

Samantha Hann, 48, of Southampton Street, Southampton, often targeted the same retailers, making off with goods worth more than £1,500.

Her crime spree began on August 10 2024, when she tried to steal items valued at £5.45 from Sainsbury's in Redcar Street.

The Range in Southampton was hit twice on September 27 2024, with Hann helping herself to laundry products worth a total of almost £40.

Her biggest theft took place on October 29 2024, when Hann stole £696 of clothing, cosmetics, and jewellery from the John Lewis store at Westquay.

On November 17 2024 she took butter valued at £29.25 from Sainsbury's in Bedford Place. Ten days later she entered TK MAXX and left without paying for lingerie and jewellery worth £143.88.

Hann also stole items valued at £100 from Next on December 1 2024 and £150 of children's clothing from the same shop on December 29.

She committed her first crime of 2025 on February 2, making off with £242 of perfume from John Lewis. The same store was hit again two days later, when she took cosmetics valued at £223.

Hann also pleaded guilty to assaulting another woman in Southampton on August 10 2024.

Appearing at the city's magistrates' court, she admitted all 11 offences and was remanded on conditional bail until March 20 2025.
