A man has been charged with the sexual assault of a woman after police were called to Southampton Common.
Kier Tong, 39, of no fixed address, has been charged with section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent and sexual assault.
Police were called to the Common at 4.05pm on Saturday, and a woman in her 40s, said she had been sexually assaulted by a man she had met earlier in the day.
Tong is accused of physically assaulting the woman, causing injuries to her face.

She was taken to hospital and has since been discharged.
Tong has been remanded into custody and was due to appear at Southampton Magistrates’ Court today.
A spokesperson for Hampshire police said: "Officers will be carrying out increased patrols on the Common and surrounding areas this week.
"Anyone with concerns, questions or information is asked to please come and speak to them."
