CCTV images have been released after an attempted shoplifting incident at an Asda store.

Police want to speak to two women in connection with the incident, which took place at 3.45pm on Sunday, February 9, at the supermarket on Bournemouth Road, Chandler’s Ford.

The women reportedly attempted to steal two trolleyloads of goods valued at £579.89.

The first woman is described as being in her late 30s, of slim build, with dark brown, shoulder-length hair.

She was wearing a black body warmer, white T-shirt, and brown cargo trousers, and was carrying a black handbag with a grey handle.

The second woman is also described as being in her late 30s, of slim build, and with long brown hair.

She was wearing a black T-shirt, black leggings, and brown UGG boots.

A Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said: "We believe the women in these images can help us with our investigation and would urge them, or anyone who knows their identity, to get in touch with us.

"Also, if you witnessed the incident, saw anything suspicious in the area at the time, or have any CCTV, mobile phone, dash cam, or doorbell camera footage which could aid our investigation, please contact us."
