Hampshire showed its illustrious array of talent and beauty as the winners of the fourth annual Hitched Wedding Awards were announced.

The county's history and beauty were on full display as venues such as Kimbridge Barn in Romsey and Audley’s Wood Hotel in Basingstoke received the much-desired top spot.

The awards recognise top wedding professionals in Hampshire who demonstrate excellence in quality, service, responsiveness and professionalism.

Both previously mentioned venues have dominated the competition in the past, sweeping gold medal spots every year since the start of the competition four years ago.

A spokesperson for Kimbridge Barn said: “It feels really good, it's great recognition for all the hard work and experience of the staff and is a testament to the quality weddings we do."

Hampshire's large amount of natural and historical beauty as well as an abundance of creative talent make it an incredibly popular place for weddings, not just for locals but for people across the UK.

Kimbridge Barn spoke glowingly about how being in Hampshire has benefitted them. A spokesperson said: “All the venues are blessed, there’s an amazing array of local suppliers, we are a hidden gem in the countryside."

The florist, Penny’s Emporium flowers echoed with similar sentiments.

A spokesperson said: “The quality is really good, there's gorgeous local vineyards, lots of different types of venues for different styles, we are spoilt.”

Photographers, Holly Bobbins, Simon K Lewis and Adela earned themselves top spot in their field whilst Hampshire's music prowess was evident as seven DJs and artists claimed the honours.

The local florist industry has 'blossomed' with the number of winners of the top prize doubling since last year's awards.

Penny's emporium spoke of the difficulty in creating the perfect wedding, but hinted at how she has come to be a two-time winner.

She said: “A good wedding is really important for the family as a whole, you're making memories for the future.

“As long as there’s good communication, whether it be visual or oral, before the day so everything is perfect”
