A Southampton-based research institute has appointed three new trustees.

Dr Hosein Khajeh-Hosseiny, John Clarke, and Professor Lisa Collins will join the board of the National Oceanography Centre between January and May, as the tenures of Dan Hook, Dr Ruth Boumphrey, and Dr Sarah McMath come to an end.

The new trustees are expected to enhance the centre's strategic decision-making and digital transformation capabilities. They will be joining between January and May.

Sir Jeremy Darroch, chairman of trustees, said: "We are delighted to welcome Hosein, John, and Lisa to our board of trustees.

"Their diverse backgrounds and expertise will be a great contribution to NOC's ambitious plans in ocean science and innovation."

NOC is a UK-based research institution focused on marine science.

Dr John Siddorn, chief executive of NOC, added: "The addition of these exceptional individuals to our board strengthens our capabilities as a charitable organisation to address critical challenges in ocean research and to deliver impactful solutions for a sustainable future."

Dr Khajeh-Hosseiny, founder and chairman of Trinity Natural Capital Group, became a trustee and chair of NOC Innovations in January.

Mr Clarke, an experienced chair and former business technology executive, will join as a trustee and deputy chair.

Professor Collins, pro vice chancellor for research and innovation at the University of Surrey and a member of the Defra Science Advisory Council.
